An acclaimed independent filmmaker and artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lee Boccacci is recognized as one of the state's leading indie auteurs. After spending five years working on Hollywood productions, Boccacci transitioned to independent film, earning both the Best Actor award and the Indie Auteur Ambassador title at a 2025 film festival.
In 2025, Boccacci was also honored as a Stay Gold Artist at Tulsa's Mayfest, where a featured painting—valued at $10,000—was exhibited as part of a celebrity portrait collection. These portraits, often signed by their subjects, are regularly showcased at a local movie theater.
Boccacci’s 17th feature film, Stray Kids, is currently circulating through festivals and special screenings ahead of its planned streaming release. In 2010, he became the first person in Oklahoma to receive the Indie Auteur Award and was just 17 years old when he completed his first feature film—making him the youngest filmmaker in the state to do so.
Spanning from 2000 to 2025, Boccacci’s career includes numerous accolades in both film and art. He currently resides in Tulsa, where he performs in the long-running play The Drunkard at the historic Spotlight Theater, organizes special film events, and leads the Indie Showcase film festival.
